The venue of the 51st R3Nordic Symposium in Cleanroom Technology & Contamination Control is Naantali Spa (

Naantali is on the southwest coast 15 km north of Turku with approximate distances of 180 km to Helsinki, 160 km to Tampere and 460 km of Kuopio. International guests can e.g. take a ferry (Viking Line or Tallink Silja) from Stockholm or fly through e.g. Helsinki or Stockholm to Turku.
Note that the Old Town with its wooden houses and the presidential summer residence Kultaranta are attractive local sights.

In the scientific programme, there will be 3 sessions on both Tuesday and Wednesday. The programme covers general aspects of cleanroom technology (R3), R3 news, R3 applications and contamination control within the pharmaceutical, biotech and food industries as well as in hospitals. These sessions are 1) Pharma & 2) Hospital & 3) R3 News & General / Food & Biotech. All presentations are in English. We have both invited lecturers and lecturers, who have submitted short abstracts. You can already now find almost half of the short abstracts on this site below Abstracts.

This programme has been updated in December 2019. Updates will be published when PK20 has additional information.

Social programme

The social programme will start on Monday evening with a Get-together event (after the Annual Meeting and the R3Olympics). The Symposium banquet is on Tuesday evening. The lunches and coffee/tea breaks take place in the exhibition area.

You can register either electronically or by using the registration form, which can be downloaded from the website. When using electronic registration, the participation fee can be paid either using credit card or via invoice. When using paper form is used, the participation fee incl. other ordered services incl. dinners and accommodation will be invoiced.

The exhibition is running both days. In the breaks, the participants can learn about the exhibitors’ products / services or just meet with colleagues.

There are in total 28 stands. The A-stands (9) are centrally located either at the entrances or close to the buffet area. The B-stands (10) have shorter interface area to the public stream than the A-stands. Bigger stands in the aula (unlocked area for hotel guests) belongs to the price class B. Furthermore, the C-stands (6) are placed in the exhibition area and the aula. In the A-C stands one table, one-two chair(s) and one electricity outlet for one laptop are included; the back wall element (white) for those placed in the main exhibition area are also included. Note, R3 will not provide wall elements between the stands. In case you are planning to use own walls between the stands you should inform Exposet, who can then inform your neighbour. The D-stands (3) are places for a roll-up and a rack for flyers (the rack is not included in the fee).

For information to the exhibitors the stands in the main exhibtion hall is equipped with 2 tables (placed as the exhibitor wish) with white table cloth(s), 2 chairs, electricity for laptop and back wall (white). In the Aula there is no back wall, table(s), chair(s) and electricity is also available for the stands in the Aula. The sizes of the stands is found in the Exhibition Flyer.
